This week, Dr. Elvira will be speaking with Sarah Simpson, a current graduate student at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. They will discuss the questions, challenges, and decisions young professionals must face to succeed in today’s complex field of development.
Sarah Simpson currently works as a Sponsored Research Coordinator in the Office of Research and Project Administration at Princeton University and provides clerical support to ensure proper management of the financial resources committed to research projects undertaken at Princeton.
Sarah holds a Bachelor of Science degree in public health from Rutgers University and is currently pursuing her Master’s of Public Health, Epidemiology. Her travels around the world have contributed greatly to her interest in pursuing a career in global health to help resolve some of the pressing public health issues we face today. Her most recent international experience was a short-term internship with the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai, India where she studied urban health issues in the slum communities.
Dr. Elvira will also be joined later in the show by Barry Karlin who spent 50 years working within international global health and is the author of an upcoming book about the choices and opportunities that shaped his career.
