Back to Global Health Basics – CBPHC

Next week I will be leading the Community-Based Primary Health Care (CBPHC) workshop at the annual meeting of APHA in New Orleans. CBPHC has been around for over 30 years since the conference in Alma-Ata in 1978 and every year we find new workshop participants that have never heard about it! They are amazed at how effective and important it is to have CBPHC programs that meet the health needs of the community.

CBPHC is the foundation of an effective health system and therefore, we need to teach CBPHC to every health provider and public health practitioner to help realize global health goals. If you are going to be at the APHA conference, consider spending Saturday, November 15th learning more about CBPHC. The topic this year is Community-Based Newborn Health Care Delivery.
