Program Overview:
COVID-19 has shown how important Epidemiology is. Every health professional needs to know and use the tools of epidemiology to gather and interpret health data. This program is an introduction to epidemiology and health service research that allows participants to learn the basic tools of epidemiology. The program is organized using Epichats, a method developed by Dr Elvira Beracochea to make it simple to learn and use epidemiology. The Epichats Method is based on a number of conversations that through question and answer helps you understand and use epidemiological terms and methods.

This program benefits all those that want to know how to gather data and analyze health problems, and use the data to improve disease prevention and control programs and improve how health services are delivering. This program also benefits those that gather information and need ways to interpret it and use it. Those that need to make better sense of what they read in medical journals and apply new findings in their work.
What you learn
The program includes basic epidemiological tools and their applications in such areas as infectious diseases, including The COVID-19 pandemic, cardiovascular disease, maternal and child health, reproductive health and family planning, cancer, biological and radioactive threats or disasters, nutrition, aging and gerontology and the role of epidemiology in health services research. You will learn how to interpret data and study of a disease or condition of your choice so you can apply what you learn to your area of work or organization. Here is a summary of the program content:

How the program works:
A week is the perfect unit of time to begin using epidemiological tools to find out how to improve the health status of the people you serve. In this program, you will learn how to work differently and use epidemiological tools to achieve your monthly targets. Every day you will receive a lesson by email and an assignment for you to apply what you learned. You will read the lesson, think about it, and do something with what you just learned. After completing your daily assignment, you will send it back to your personal coach for feedback. Every week, there will be a lesson and discussion with Dr Elvira on Zoom so you can ask all your questions and share with other students.
You will receive a certificate after you complete all assignments including a “Epi Success Plan”. In just 7 Days this program will help you ensure your clinic is leading the way in quality healthcare in your community and can run smoothly with or without you there! You will get free weekly coaching for three months to implement your “Epi Success Plan” and advance your career as recognized well-rounded professional that knows how to gather and use research findings.
